Dehradun. Delegations of farmers from Haridwar led by former Chief Minister and MP Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and former Cabinet Minister Swami Yatishwaranand met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at Chief Minister’s residence at Mukhya Sevak Sadan and thanked him for the increase in sugarcane prices.
He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for increasing the sugarcane price by Rs 20 per quintal in the state for the year 2023-24 and for the decisions taken by the Central and State Government from time to time in the interest of farmers.
Expressing gratitude to all, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is constantly making efforts to raise the standard of living of the farmers. Many schemes are being run in the field of agriculture, horticulture. Continuous efforts are being made by the state government to double the income of farmers. The Chief Minister said that for the year 2023-24 in the state, the price of early variety of sugarcane has been fixed at Rs 375 per quintal and the price of common variety has been fixed at Rs 365 per quintal.
The Chief Minister said that during the nine and a half years tenure of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, several schemes have been launched for the welfare of the poor. Keeping in mind every section, the benefits of the schemes have been given. Work has also been done rapidly in the direction of women empowerment. Schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana have proved to be a boon for the people. Keeping in mind every section in the state, the benefits of schemes are being given. He said that the state government is committed to solve every problem of the farmers.
Zila Panchayat President Kiran Chaudhary, BJP’s Haridwar District President Sandeep Goyal, Roorkee District President Shobharam Prajapati, Kisan Morcha State President Jogendra Pundir, Sugarcane Development Advisory Committee Vice Chairman Shyamveer Saini and delegation of farmers were present on the occasion.
